Vancouver Relocation - Siemens Definition Flash

Mar 29, 2018

Toward the end of 2017, Siaron Medical performed the removal of 8 different diagnostic imaging systems from the old BC Children’s & Women’s hospital. Click the link below to read more about these removals:

One of the systems removed was a Siemens Definition Flash CT. The hospital availed of Siaron’s relocation of assets service which, facilitated by Siemens, helps to avoid the lengthy trade process which may result in selling for below market value due to time constraints and other factors.

The Definition Flash was transported by Siaron’s logistics team and stored for 4 months in our dedicated medical equipment storage facility. This is the perfect solution for both short and long term storage needs. Our facility is temperature controlled, dust free, fully alarmed and wholly dedicated to store only medical equipment.
Upon arrival at our warehouse, we performed a full clinical clean of the system so that the BC Cancer Agency would be receiving a used CT in the best possible condition.

Once they were ready to receive, Siaron’s team prepared to rig and deliver the system. This not only involves the physical preparations of transporting each component, but also any necessary requirements such as city permits, crane hiring and road closures. Having all angles covered for a task of this type ensures a seamless and safe delivery for all involved.

This particular delivery was quite tricky. Not only was a crane required to move the gantry but it had to be placed on the roof of the buildings parkade in order to enter the building. This required engineer sign off to ensure the roofs weight capacity was capable of supporting the enormous weight of the gantry. Once all of these details were confirmed we can then proceed with the delivery. Below are some images of our team in action:

Now that the system is safely in place, our team will return next month to complete the final install.
