Angiography is medical imaging technique designed to take X-ray images of the arteries and vessels that supply blood to the heart. Through a catheter inserted in a blood vessel, a dye is released into the arteries, which allows the X-ray to view blood vessels. Angiography is used to see how clearly blood is able to flow to the heart.

Computerized Tomography combines X-ray equipment with the technology of computers to generate a three-dimensional image of the inside of the body using a series of images taken around a single rotation to create one image.  CT scans of blood vessels, soft tissue, organs and bones provide more clarity than X-ray exams.

Fluoroscopy is a medical imaging technique used to acquire real-time moving images of body’s tissues and deep structures. A fluoroscope projects X-ray images in a movie-like sequence onto a monitor.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a technique that provides highly accurate imaging in soft tissues of the body.  Using a large magnet to align atoms in the body and using gradients a MRI can produce a detailed cross-section image of the internal organs without using ionizing radiation.

A mammogram is a low-dose X-ray exam of the breast tissue designed for screening and diagnosis of abnormal growths or changes in breast tissue.

Molecular Imaging stemmed from the need to provide patients with non-invasive imaging procedures.  Many different modalities are available to be used for noninvasive molecular imaging each having different strengths and weaknesses.

Radiography is the process of creating an image of any part of the body using X-ray by comparing non-uniform materials. This is done by the X-ray displaying areas of different density and composition to identify discrepancy.

Ultrasound is medical imaging technique used to visualize muscles, tendons and internal organs through the use of high-frequency sound waves. These waves can be bounces off tissues using an ultrasound machine. The echoes are then converted into an image called a sonogram.

An MRI Gradient Coil is a loop of wires and thin conductive sheets on a cylindrical shell which lies just inside the bore of an MRI. When current is passed through these coils a secondary magnetic field is created.

Rigging is the use of fibre ropes, wire ropes, chains, slings, or other attachments to lift and move objects.

Superconductivity is the ability of certain materials to conduct electric current with practically zero resistance when cooled to fewer degrees above to absolute zero temperatures.

Liquid helium is used to cool down the superconductive magnets coil in MRI systems, to a temperature below 10 Kelvin. Siaron’s specially trained cryogen technicians are capable of performing helium filling services for a variety of magnets.
